Visit Antarctica and the Arctic with this workshop about the Polar Regions. Your class will firstly visit Antarctica, where they will learn about its landscape, weather conditions, visitors and animal inhabitants. Pupils will come face to face with Gentoo Penguins, the fastest underwater bird that can dive 200m and the Leopard Seal, a cute but deadly predator in Antarctica.
After visiting Antarctica, pupils will be transported to the North Pole, where they will join a group of explorers who have voyaged to the middle of the Arctic Ocean. Your class will learn about the impossible living conditions at the North Pole, along with the impact that global warming is having on this region.
This workshop is a great way for pupils to explore both of the Polar Regions and compare their similarities and differences. This up close experience with the penguins and leopard seals is not one to be missed!
